This discount rayon Halloween costume
goes all the way back to 1967. This youth-tailored “jumper” originally came packaged alongside a different vacuform plastic mask design.
When Halloween (2007) production designer, Anthony Tremblay, discovered a vintage ©Collegeville clown mask.. on eBay while searching to assemble the “classic kind” of retro costume RZ wanted for his young Michael Myers.. he immediately knew, “it was the One.”
With RZ satisfied, costumer designer, Mary McLeod, acquired several existing ©Collegeville clown costumes (*in the same matching color-scheme) for the director’s ultimate graphic design selection.
These visual elements were then very closely replicated to become more durable and more importantly.. actually fit a vastly growing 10 year old, Daeg Faerch!
In summation, locating a matching set of these fragile 50{+} year-old relics is
VERY RARE!
Both all-original, correct-design pieces featured in this listing were discovered within a large dead-stock estate sale amongst many boxed & unopened ©Ben Cooper style antique Halloween treasures.
As you can see, both costume & mask remained undisturbed for all this time in their separate cheaply manufactured cardstock “file” boxes.
Have owned a handful of original 60’s/ 70’s RZ ©Collegeville clown costumes over the past decade and these have remained far & beyond the very best of the lot!
White-colored, screen-printed clown graphic is pristine$$.. being stored out of the sun entirely. Equally amazing cond., included vacuform clown mask is highly fluorescent and bright white!!
