Victorian Intricate Woven Sewing Needlework Basket with contents

This was a multi-generational used sewing basket.
I spoke to the heirs at the estate sale and they said they believed it belonged to their great-great grandmother; but was passed down and used by each generation thereafter.  Unfortunately, theirs is where it stopped as none of them did any type of needlework and had no interest in the beauty and detail of this amazing piece of history.
I have left the contents in it as I found it. I simply had on display for the beauty of detail of the piece.  For those of you that enjoy needlework as I do, there are DMC #3 skeins and 1 DMC#5 (the mauve one).  Perhaps in addition to enjoying the loveliness of the basket, you will also be able to use the yarn.
You can clearly see from the pictures that it is not perfect...but I've always believed something like this that was handled by generations should have some flaws to give it character. In my humble opinion, it simply adds to the beauty and charm.
I hope it will end up in a home where it will be treasured as much as I have.
I did find a small plastic container to put the loose buttons in.
Side note:  Some things are harder to part with than others.  :(
