Vintage souvenir program from "Skating Vanities of 1950", a touring event that featured ice skating and dancing. This tour was produced by Harold Steinman and Gae Foster, with costume design by Joan Personette. Some of the skaters featured on this tour were:
Gloria Nord (Skating Ballerina).
Douglas Breniser.
Peggy Wallace.
Eileen McDonnell.
Tommy Lane.
Musical score was directed by Benjamin Schwartz. Walter Russell and Rick Farrell served as "Master of Ceremonies". Some of the themes for this tour were : "Boardwalk of Atlantic City", "Navajo Indian Tribal Dances", "Spirit of Christmas" and more.
This program, albeit 71 years old, shows some heavy wear on the front cover - there is a torn corner, tape damage on the center, and normal creasing. On the interior pages, we see a few corner bends, but no visible ink markings or heavy age tanning/staining. The official tour dates were listed on the last page of the program, with a beatiful Johnston Candies and Chocolates ad. Thankfully, the program was previously owned by a collector, and the item was stored away from any elements that would have caused more extensive damage.
