    Description

    Every late 1800s Singer Sewing Machine was sold with one of these accessory boxes. Box is stamped with the patent date —  February 19, 1889. This rare fingerjoined box is made of a wonderful reddish brown solid cherry. It’s 6 1/2” long x 3 1/2” tall x 3 1/4” deep. Easy to close, it just rolls up and has a hook closure. Hood closure is a replacement. Hinges are in good working order. Original finish was removed and the box was refinished inside and out with several coats of MinWax Satin Varnish and hand-buffed with paste wax and 0000 steel wool. Staining from original cloth. A very special item in beautiful condition. No reserve!
