    Description

    This is a nicely mounted Antique U Thong Period Bronze Buddha Head fragment from Thailand.  This original piece dates from the 14th to 15th Century. The item was purchased in Bangkok in the early 1970's by my father who operated an Antique Shop in Penang, Malaysia at the time.  The item was sourced from the well known & respected Antique dealer Peng Seng originally located on Rama IV Road close to the Jim Thompson House Museum.  Only original pieces were purchased.
    Please note the well preserved flame perched atop the Buddha's Ushnisha / Crown of Hair typical of the U Thong Period
    Please review pictures closely in regards to the overall condition of this Buddha figure. Overall the piece is in Very Fine Condition
    Buddha Head Dimensions: 1 inch wide, 2 1/4 inches high with depth of 1 inch.  Height of Buddha Head including the wood base is 3 5/8 inches.  Weight: 2.5 ounces.
