    Description

    This is a nicely mounted Antique Ayutthaya (Ayuthia) Period Bronze Buddha Head fragment from Thailand.  This original piece dates from the 14th to 18th Century. The item was purchased in Bangkok in the early 1970's by my father who operated an Antique Shop in Penang, Malaysia at the time.  The item was sourced from the well known & respected Antique dealer Peng Seng originally located on Rama IV Road close to the Jim Thompson House Museum.  Only original pieces were purchased.  The Head is mounted to the wood block and is moveable rather than Stationary so therefore it's position can be adjusted on the base.
    Please note the Buddha Head's unique crown typical of an Ayutthaya Period piece.

    Buddha Head Dimensions: 1 inch wide, 2 1/2 inches high with depth of 1 1/4 of an inch.  Height of Buddha Head including the wood base is 3 7/8 inches.  Weight: 2.7 ounces.
