    Small Early 1900's New England Algonquin Penobscot Ash Splint Covered Basket with Scissors Holder!
    The Penobscot tribe were members of the Wabanaki Confederacy. These allies from the estern seaboard region of New England spoke related languages. Angry with the British as the result of the costly war against the English and Iroquoians, the Penobscot tribe supported the Americans in the Revolutionary war.
    Made in the early 1900's, this wonderful basket is approximately 6" in diameter at the bottom x 1¾" tall. It is ash splint and sweet grass with a weaved scissors holder on the top. PLEASE note the scissors are only for demonstration. They DO NOT come with the basket.
    It is in very good condition.
