A WONDERFUL AND VERY RARE ANTIQUE FIGURE OF A BOY ON A SAILBOAT WHICH I BELIEVE IS A THIMBLE HOLDER. MOST LIKELY A PALAIS ROYAL PIECE FROM PARIS, OR GERMANY. THE BOY IS BISQUE, THE SAIL IS MOTHER OF PEARL AND SAYS ANDENKEN WHICH IS SOUVENIR IN GERMAN, THE BOAT IS A SHELL. THE SAIL AND STAND ARE GILT METAL. DATING TO C1870-1910. The piece is 4 inches tall and 3 inches wide. The opening for the sail is a bit big so it is difficult to stand the figure up - however, it does stand.
