This is a  most amazing most Ancient figurine- wonderful Primitive bue intricately beautiful!!!
Fully Hand Carved & wonderfully hand painted.  the intricate details in the wings of the Serpent & Vishnu are most amazing.  Showing Vishnu 4 arms the wings are layered & detailed.  The piece is exquisite.
Sculpture hangs by 3 long pieces of what feels like braided horsehair  & the braided pieces hang like rope & are attached to hooks on the piece & they join together at the top  & connect into another larger hook for hanging.
The piece measures:24"L x 16" wing span x 13.5" tall - not counting the attachment to hang it.
Designed to give the appearance that VISHNU is really flying thru the air on his Serpent
This piece has so much passion in its creation.  It is amazing & beautiful & one of a kind.
CONDITION:  it is in good condition well maintained.  SOME OF the color has aged & patina'd a bit & there may be some age issues here & there -- figure does not have a tail..  not sure the circa but it is ancient.  My mind goes to wondering if it at some point came out of a temple.   truly a one of a kind piece of Hindu Sculpture
