Antique G.F. French STERLING Sherbet Cups with LALIQUE Crystal Inserts-Set of 4

These are a UNIQUE set of 4 sterling sherbet coupes. The sterling bases are hallmarked G.H.F. for the G.F. French of Attleboro, MA. The sterling bases were made sometime in the 20's or 30's. The design is a mix of Art Deco and Art Nouveau as the rims are scalloped while the bases are very Deco.
The inserts were damaged or missing so I purchased 4 Lalique "Barsac" crystal tall sherbet/champagne glasses and had the base cut off each stem at a point that they fit very nicely in the sterling holders. If one could find these stems today for sale on the web, they would be at least 0 each. These Lalique inserts are in absolutely perfect condition with no chips or scratches.
The 4 Sterling bases for each crystal stem are equally in very fine condition. The bases measure 2.5" for the bottom rim and 2.75" for the top rim and are 3 1/8" in height. Each base weighs 2.4 ozs. on my food scale so the sterling melt value of each base is over for each base.
With the crystal stem inserted, the complete set measures 4.25" in height and the rim of the crystal insert measures 3 5/8" in diameter.
Perfect for serving sherbet, mousse, seafood cocktail etc.
Please note that each Sterling base has a small engraved set of initials which I can't make out-see photos.
