Antique Coramandel Wood Sewing Box Bone & Brass Inlay With Key

Circa 1900 Coramandel  or Calamander Wood Sewing Box or Work Box. Made with Bone, Brass inlay and over 1200 pieces of wood. Each compartment cover has between 40 to 60 pieces of wood. Over 250 pieces of carved bone used in the decorations and close to 50 pieces of brass. I would guess this was made India or Ceylon for the upper class. The Coramandel Wood comes from New Zealand.
