On offer is this superb antique English sterling silver trophy loving cup bearing the hallmarks  for London 1862   and the makers mark of  Robert Harper.  The trophy loving cup  is of  good  size and weight . The overall height is 10.65  " , the diameters are ,  base ,  4.9 " , cup top  6 " and the handle width is  9.9 " . The  weight is  761 grams ,  24.47  troy ounces .
This is a most magnificent piece of antique design and workmanship from a well respected silversmth. The baluster shaped cup body has very good repousse decoration of floral and foliar motifs.  On each side of the cup body are vacant cartouches , all ready for your dedication. Just below the cup is the stem knop with a very decorative running band. This knop gives way to a tapering stem which flows gently down to the spread base. The base also has beautiful repousse decoration of swags , flowers and foliage . The final land is incurved and has an upright rim base of scallop form. But the real star part of this delightful trophy cup is the pair of handles ! What a wondrous sight !  Each of them is formed of tapered ribbed silver. At the tops are acanthus leaf cappings with button ends. At the lower parts are  acanthus sheaths , also with button ends.
The whole is beautifully polished  , the final touch to making this a really superb display piece and antique English sterling silver.
There is no  inscription on this trophy loving cup  , so you can display it as it is or have your own dedication inscribed thereon.

and is beautifully polished ready to go on display.
