334. English sterling silver trophy loving cup and cover bearing the hallmarks for Sheffield 1938 and the makers mark of the renowned Walker and Hall . The trophy loving cup and cover is of good size and weight . The overall height, including plinth , is 14.75 " , the diameters are , plinth base , 6.25 " , cup base 4 ", cup top 5.25 " and the handle width is 7.5 " . The gross shipping weight is 1233 grams , the silver weight is 653 grams, 21.00 troy ounces . The cover finial is a depiction of winged Victory. On offer is this English sterling silver trophy loving cup and cover bearing the hallmarks  for Sheffield 1938  and the makers mark of the renowned Walker and Hall .  The trophy loving cup and cover  is of  good  size and weight . The overall height, including plinth ,  is 14.75  " , the diameters are , plinth  base , 6.25 " , cup base 4 ", cup top 5.25  " and the handle width is 7.5  " . The gross shipping  weight is 1233 grams ,  the silver weight is 653 grams, 21.00 troy ounces .
This sterling silver trophy cup and cover on its original shaped , black stained, wood plinth
is an excellent example of the best of art deco design. The maker , Walker and Hall , always produces silverware of exceptional design and workmanship.
The cover has flat lands surmounted by a finial depicting a winged  Victory , a long trumpet to her lips , a laurel wreath clasped in her hand.  The cover sits well atop a conical shaped cup body tapering down to a stylised knop on the short stem .On the lower part of the cup body are sylised bands resmbling waves or clouds. Below the stem knop the decoration is in the form of a band of parallel incisions. The cup base design mirrors that of the cover . The whole sits on the original sloped black stained wood base which has at it centre a circular plaque with the makers name , logo and partial address.
The whole is finished with the addition of a pair of stylised short , flat handles adorned with understated stepped ends. A truely wonderful piece of art deco sterling silver to grace any collection.
There is no  inscription on this trophy loving cup  , so you can display it as it is or have your own dedication inscribed thereon.
The whole is in EXCELLENT CONDITION and is beautifully polished ready to go on display.
For your guidance , I use the words " EXCELLENT CONDITION " only if it is ........., " GOOD CONDITION " to indicate that there are no serious condition problems , but that there may be surface blemishes such as light discolouration , minor dings , dents or scratches commensurate with the age of the piece.............. I use the words " REASONABLE CONDITION " to indicate that there are blemishes and dings ,dents, creases , scratches , ripples etc . Under this condition category I will always qualify such defects , but please ask if you want any clarification of damages to any given piece.
