221. Antique English sterling silver trophy loving cup bearing the hallmarks for London 1915 and the retailers mark of C.Dobson , New Bond Street , London . The trophy loving cup is of good size and weight . The overall height is 8.8 " , the diameters are , base , 4.1 " , cup top 5.2 " and the handle width is 9.2 " . The weight is 722 grams , 23.22 troy ounces . . Beautifully decorated . This is one of two trophies I have for Brooklands motor cycle races. This one celebrates the winner of the 1922 winner of the Senior TT . The inscription reads : THE CLUB CUP / 1st PRIZE BROOKLANDS SENIOR TT / J.L. EMERSON / BROOKLANDS / 6th MAY 1922 . On offer is this antique English sterling silver trophy loving cup bearing the hallmarks  for  London 1915  and the retailers  mark of  C.Dobson of New Bond Street , London.  The trophy loving cup  is of  good  size and weight . The overall height is 8.8  " , the diameters are ,  base , 4.1  " , cup top 5.2  " and the handle width is  9.2 " . The  weight is  722  grams , 23.22   troy ounces .
This sterling silver trophy cup is well designed and crafted to a very high standard. The cup body is almost straight sided and has an applied , ribbed central band.  The stem is short and flows down onto the landed spread base. The wonderful handles are of C scroll form with stylised flying leaf cappings.
The best thing about this trophy cup is the inscription ..... it celebrates an iconic motor cycle race held at the banked Brooklands Race Track in the Surrey landscape to the south of London , England.  The inscription reads : THE "CLUB" CUP   /   1st PRIZE BROOKLANDS SENIOR TT   /   J.L.EMERSON.    /    BROOKLANDS, 6th MAY 1922.
On the back of the trophy , in a large italic font, are the intials of the club :  BMCRC .
I am also listing another sterling trophy won by Jack Emerson in 1926. It was awarded for 200 miles race which he won at an average speed of 84.21 mph.

The whole is in EXCELLENT CONDITION and is beautifully polished ready to go on display.
