    Description

1907 Sherwood Rangers Imperial Yeomanry A Squadron Sterling Silver Four Handle Loving Cup
1906 William Hutton & Sons Ltd. Birmingham, England Sterling Silver Four Handle Loving Cup
    Engraved with: "S.R.I.Y. SQ: "A" 1907"
A British Registry mark on the bottom shows it made after 1905 (Rd. 449698)
    Hallmarked with clear stamps.
    Weight about 5.2 Ounces.
Patina commensurate with age and handling.
The new owner may choose to have it polished, I prefer the aged look showing the handling it incurred over it's life.
This Four Handled Loving Cup was created for when the "Old Guard" merged with the new in 1907.
The Territorial and Reserve Forces Act of 1907 was an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that reformed the auxiliary forces of the British army by transferring existing volunteer and yeomanry units into a new territorial force and disbanding the militia to form a new special reserve of the regular army.
Included is a photo of the S.R.I.Y. NCOs. (Non Commissoned Officers) in 1907.
Imagine the men that held this cup and toasted those fallen in the Boer War.
