    Description

    This is an original antique program from a 1903 benefit performance of the Original Pierrot Minstrels given to aid the Little Sisters Of The Poor at Rangoon, Burma.   This program is a four page pamphlet measuring about 6.5” x 10”.  The front cover is titled:
    SURPLUS FUNDS IN AID OF THE LITTLE SISTERS OF THE POOR.  Under the Patronage of Sir Hugh S. Barnes, K.C.S.I., K.C.V.O., I.C.S., Lieutenant-Governor of Burma – THE ORIGINAL PIERROT- MINSTRELS Will Give A Performance on Saturday, 19th December, 1903 at 9:30 Precisely at THE JUBLIEE HALL
    This program lists the various songs and acts that made up the performance including several racist numbers including “The Lonesome Coon” and “The Darkies Wedding”.  This program has advertising for Watson, Allen & Roberts of Rangoon printed on the back cover and lower margin of the two inside pages.  This is an original and rare antique Burmese Blackface Minstrel Show program from Rangoon, Burma.
    This program has a few nicks and some toning to the paper from age and general wear.   The original owner made a pencil notation on the cover but the program is in good condition overall.  Email any questions.  Thanks for looking.
