Here is a Handsome Pretty Pair of Georgian Coconut Cups with Hallmarked Sterling Silver Rims made in London in 1796 by the Noted Silversmiths, Phipps and RobinsonYOU ARE BIDDING ON THE PAIR (2) OF CUPS
The Coconut Cups feature Sterling Silver Rim Mounts and a Applied Circular Disc engraved with Family Armorial Crest and Initial
The Hallmarks Shown on the Cup Rim are “TP” over ER” for the Noted Silversmiths, Thomas Phipps and Edward Robinson, the Duty Mark the Head of King George the Third, the Lion Passant Guarantee for Sterling Silver, and the Date Letter “A” for 1796
The Coconut Cup Bases are made in Sheffield Silver Plate and both are Weighted – some Copper Wear Shows Through on the Bases
The Cups measure 4.75 Inches Tall (12 cms) and 3.25 Inches in Diameter (8.5 cms)
